Should America impeach President Bush?

Abstract:
If you support this country and its troops, you would also most likely support the formulation of a plan to bring our men and women home from Iraq. And though the election for president is over a year away, some believe it is not soon enough. ...

We must seek out leaders that value truthfulness and integrity if we are to restore our democracy and country to its greatness. Our democracy is undermined when our leaders try to misled and manipulate us with deceitful ways. We can only make good decisions when we have truthful and correct information to base decisions on.

The Declaration of Independence ".... Governments are instituted among Men, DERIVING THEIR JUST POWERS FROM THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.... But when a long train of abuses and usurpations pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, IT IS THEIR RIGHT, IT IS THEIR DUTY, TO THROW OFF SUCH GOVERNMENT, and to provide new Guards for their future security.... let Facts be submitted to a candid world."

WE.... NO LONGER CONSENT TO BE GOVERNED BY THIS BUSH & CHENEY ADMINISTRATION THAT HAS COMMITTED TREASON, HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS AGAINST THIS COUNTRY!

It is the DUTY of our Senators and Representatives in Congress, to throw off such Government as our Declaration of Independence instructs us to do. Remind Them Of That! It is OUR DUTY & THEIR DUTY to throw off such Government!

My compliments to Rachel on her essay. It was presented in a reasoned and logical fashion, something truly missing in today's political discourse.
My personal belief is that George Bush has done permanent damage to the foreign policy of the US. We will be generations in the repair of our image overseas.

I'm sick at heart when I think of my American citizenship. By this I mean being proud of being a citizen in a country formerly known for doing the difficult things needed to make things right. This is not to say that the USA hasn't done some rather bad things - ignoring the genocides in Rwanda and Darfur (there's no oil there, right?) - but for the most part we were a nation of good people trying to do good things and not just for ourselves. President Bush has stolen that feeling from me and from many others as well.

Impeachment would be a good thing in this case, but I fear that our spineless elected officials back in DC don't have the cahones required to step up and get that job done. So it's back to ignoring the war and business as usual for most of us.

As Kurt Vonnegut once wrote, Hi Ho.

Impeaching Bush would be doing the entire world a huge favor! Bush is a terrible President, but an excellent liar and sneak! We need a leader who will make people proud to be Americans! Bush is NOT that person!

The only problem with impeachment of "shrub" is that we will then be at the mercy of Cheney. That would be a fate worse than death to this country. The likelihood of both being impeached is non-existent. The best we can hope for is that we can hold our noses and put up with this insanity until January 2009 when a Democratic president is sworn in and can begin the long process of restoring this great nation to it's rightful place as a leader among nations. A leader for good and for peace, not the current leader of the worst of the worst.

We need to impeach both Bush and Cheney. Then they need to be held accountable for what they have done. A year is way too long to wait. How many U.S. troops will die, and how many innocent Iraqis will die before they are stopped?

You can bet your boots Bush and Cheney both needs to be impeached. Clinton didn't do near the terrible things that Bush has done. Someone made a horrible mistake when they voted those two into office. But there was a lot of trickery done. They really fooled the nation. Nope, I did not vote for either of them. I wouldn't vote them to be dog catchers. I guess rich people like liars, it fills their pocket books.

What do you mean pushing to impeach Mr. Bush? You must be kidding. The only reason that people are against Me. Bush is because he is a Christian the left does not like it. Have any of you thought about the 48 million babies that have been killed through abortion? I doubt it. We should be screaming our heads off at this ungodly act that has been going on since 1973 in this country! I don't like war, but sometimes it is necessary and in this case I believe it is and I think you are being very unfair to Mr. Bush by accusing him a lying and all the other things that are said.

Just because Bush is a Christian does not mean that those who want him out of office are only those on the left. Many Christian friends I have who identify as Republican want him impeached as well. It's not a religous thing, it's the direction that the country is going, especially in the eyes of the rest of the world. There is not a call for Bush to be impeached because of his views on abortion, there's a call for Bush to be impeached because of Iraq and the mess we have there. Recently it was reported that 2/3 of Iraqi citizens feel less safe with US forces being there, over half believe the invasion started a civil war, and most want the US to pull their troops out so they can set up their own government. A great number of US citizens want the exact same thing. It has nothing to do with abortion, as you have claimed. In fact, if he stays in office there probably won't be any change in the way the country is about abortion, he's too focused on defending the war and trying to salvage the Republican party's clout.

I believe that the President and his entire staff should be impeached, tried and if found guilty and sent to jail. I believe that if you love this country you should only do what is right for it.

Impeachment is the wrong punishment because Bush and Cheney would do exactly like President Nixon did. Impeachment would leave the corruption gang in power and their successor could run two times for election as an incumbent.
A few Swift-Boat liars could destroy a Democratic candidate as they did John Kerry.
The news media would select the worst Democratic candidate as they did Kerry and they could re-elect Bush by making their selected Democrat appear like Kerry.
We need to demand of Congress a law to have a recall election immediately. Then have a recall election to remove the entire corruption gang.
Visit www.jeffgoolsby.net for more ideas, then send your comments by email to me.

I seriously doubt the posted figure of over 50% of Americans favoring impeachment. We are a nation of Law and there is no Law on our books calling for this Presidents removal from office.A crazy bunch of radical leftists favor this what I call a stupid step.
