'Skinny Bitch' slaps meat

Abstract:
This book made me a vegan. The cover of the book "Skinny Bitch" says it all: It's a "no-nonsense tough-love guide for savvy girls' who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous." It is a must-have book for every woman who wants to know how her eating habits are affecting her body and what she can do about it....

I read this book about a month or so ago, and it's done the same thing....and I was a DIE HARD carnivore. It's amazing how easy it was, and how much better I feel.

There is something wrong with the title of the book. It should NOT be classified as a diet book or a "fad" or geared just toward women. It is a nutrition information book and it is for EVERYONE. It unveils the truths about our society, our government, and how wrong the media is about everything they tell us about foods. I, too, was addicted to food for many years. I became 210 pounds at age 31 and 5'9". I cried when my boyfriend and I were going out and I couldn't find anything to wear. I didn't sleep at night because I couldn't figure out why nothing was working...personal trainer, running, yoga, and "diet." Biggest thing the book made me do was to QUIT DRINKING DIET SODAS! And avoid anything, including gum, that had aspertame (a.k.a. poison). It reprogrammed my brain to always want food and even though I was completely stuffed, I would keep on eating more and more and more until it hurt, then I'd have dessert. Nobody, including my doctor, could figure out why the little voice in my brain had been silenced...nobody was telling me I was full and stop eating because aspertame had shut it up. Thank you, Weight Watchers, for telling me diet pop is 0 points in their system. No calories, but it was a tradeoff for no ability to stop eating and pouring liquid cancer into my body. I don't trust anyone anymore. I have read up on most of Skinny Bitch's sources (they are NOT all one-sided either) and then some and NOBODY can possibly argue that they are wrong. So what if you don't become a vegan after reading it? Just get a few things out of it and you're already doing much better.

By the way, I forgot to mention that since I read the book and incorporated some of the ideas into my life (no aspertame, no meat, and some simple vegan substitutions here and there) I have decreased my portion sizes more than half and I have lost 35 pounds since January...without much exercise. So anyone who says it's a fad is an idiot. It should be called, "Healthy Bitch."
