Think feline birth control instead of resorting to bullets

Abstract:
Any time humans try to adjust the natural balance of animals in the wild, what they are really doing is playing God. Actually, they are fixing the mistakes they created. Humans domesticated cats with cross breeding and now the cats aren't co-existing with other wildlife....

Obviously the writer of this article has not done much biological research before going on a rant. First of all, cats are very able to survive in the wild. No animal can be completely domesticated.Have you ever had a pet cat drop a bird or a mouse by your door step? I don't think they got it from a can. By raising them around humans we have indeed imprinted them but when forced to go out on their own, their natural instincts will take over. However, cats are not a part of America's natual ecosystem and therefore, when found in the wild, if they can not be cared for by a human family, they should be erradicated by whatever means necessary. Shooting them is a cheap, and effective and if done correctly is a quick an painless death.

The author of the editorial in mentioning the can opener as a dinner bell referred to those cats raised in a human household. These cats are indeed NOT "very able to survive in the wild". When a cat gifts its humans with a mouse, it is caring for them by giving them what it views as a treat.
These cats didn't get out in the wild on their own. Somebody dumped them there when they tired of them. Responsible pet owners should spay/neuter them, not dump them out like trash.
The real concern here is the open season this will declare on anyone's pet someone decides they don't like. You don't like my cat? That's okay; blow her away, claim she was "feral", and nothing will happen to you.

This is non sence Who ever signed this into law should have the same thing done to them each and every one who shoots these animals should be througn out into the wild with no way to defend them selves then be hunted like dogs they are. and see how they like it
