Poet seeks words from within

Sherwin Bitsui, an internationally recognized Navajo poet, read poems from his books to a crowded Art Gallery at Western Illinois University Wednesday night.

Bitsui's first book "Shape Shift" was written in 2003, and he is currently promoting his most recent book, "Flood Song.

The Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center's annual Biggest Loser competition came to its conclusion last Tuesday night.

The total body weight percent lost was 71.75 inches, and the average weight lost was 9.9 pounds. The total amount of weight lost was 79.

The real Emmett Till was a personable 14-year old boy who loved pranks. His murder in 1955 - allegedly for whistling at a young white woman -served as an important catalyst for Civil Rights Movement. Over the years, however, Till has also become the stuff of legend.
