Frightening fun in Colchester
It is Oct. 31 and people across the nation are looking to be spooked by costumes, movies and of course, haunted houses.
The Colchester Fire Department is once again hosting its annual haunted house. The house is located one block north of Highway 136 in Colchester next to Jones Mortuary. This is the 11th year the house has been thrilling and scaring Western Illinois University students and local residents. …

Honoring 2,000 dead soldiers
Tomorrow and Wednesday, a group of concerned students from Western Illinois University will be paying tribute to the U.S. soldiers and the Iraqi civilians who have died during the war in Iraq. Student volunteers, led by Jason Reitz, a recreation, park and tourism graduate student, will be hosting a 33-hour memorial vigil in the grassy courtyard behind Stipes Hall and the adjacent Malpass Library sometimes known as the Mall.…

Flung Mung funks it for the Salvation Army
