Juniors Jared Steger and Kyle Peterman each grabbed Top 10 finishes to pace the Western Illinois men's golf team, as it tied for third place at the Grover Page Classic hosted by Tennessee-Martin.

Steger finished six shots off the lead, as he carded a two-round score of 146 (72-74) to give him a share of fifth place individually and to pace the Leathernecks. One shot behind Steger was Peterman with a 147 (76-71), who tied for eighth place.

Making a strong showing just one stroke out off a Top 10 finish was junior Jason Woll, who registered a 148 (71-77). Sophomore Ryan Franks recorded a 152 (77-75), and fellow sophomore Bryan Scott rounded out the scoring for Western with a 155 (83-72).

The third-place finish was the highest for the Leathernecks so far this season. Western shot 588 (296-292) and finished four strokes behind tournament champion Central Arkansas, which collected a 584 (295-289). Lipscomb's Cory Parkinson took home the individual title with a score of 140 (69-71).

The Leathernecks head to North Carolina for a tournament March 23-24 at historic Pinehurst.
