Phishing e-mail attempts to steal student information

Do not respond to an email with the subject heading of "Verify Your Wiu Account Now."
According to Mitch Davidson Executive Director, Technology Infrastructure Support Services, this email was not sent by a person or department at Western Illinois University but rather a third party source.
It is an attempt to acquire personal information and not a legitimate Western announcement.
"It is NOT related in any way to the announced migration to Zimbra e-mail," stated Davidson in a University press release.
Students who responded to the email or have further questions should contact Davidson at MD-Davidson@wiu.edu or 309/298-2517
