Junior Eric Eden nabbed Summit League Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing six shutout innings against No. 7 Long Beach State last week.

Juniors Kenny Price and Eric Eden were named the Summit League's Player and Pitcher of the Week, after helping to lead the Western Illinois baseball team to the biggest upset in school history.

Price collects player of the week honors after batting .563 (9-for-16) in four games in California last week.

In the upset victory over No. 7 Long Beach State, he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. In addition, he made two diving catches in right field to help erase scoring threats. Each game last week saw multiple hits from Price, who added a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage for the week.

Eden led the Leathernecks to a 3-0 victory over the Dirtbags, Tuesday, March 11. He threw six innings of shutout ball, recording three strikeouts and allowing only three hits. It was the first win of the season for Western and just the third start in Division I for Eden.

Price, Eden and the Leathernecks get back to action this weekend when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind., for a series against Purdue.
