Located in Pekin, Illinois and founded in 1958, Tazewell Animal Protective Society is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization funded solely through adoptions, donations, memorials and fundraising events. The goal of TAPS is to provide a safe environment for injured, misplaced and homeless cats and dogs until they can be placed in permanent loving homes. We also provide education to pet owners and the public about overpopulation and pet care.

One of our largest fundraising events, the Rockin' for TAPS, is coming up June 14, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event will take place at Pekin Boat Club in Pekin, where bands Phat Noiz and Loose Shoes will play and food and drinks will be available for sale. A "Rockin' Dog" contest will be held at 4 p.m., where dogs will be dressed like their favorite rocker. We are going to make this always-popular event bigger and better this year!
