Senior Martin Bostrom continued his winning streak at Indiana State Saturday.

Senior Martin Boström extended his winning streak to 13 matches, but the Western Illinois men's tennis team lost to Indiana State, 4-3.

"Indiana State is a talented team," said assistant coach Mike Fenwick. "Their level of intensity was higher than ours today. We still have many more matches for us this year, and we'll have to learn from this one and move on to the next."

Boström was able to extend his winning streak by defeating Rishi Behl, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 singles position. The senior is now 13-0 in the 2007-2008 season and 7-0 this spring.

The Leathernecks (4-5) were awarded the doubles point due to walkovers and were also awarded the No. 6 singles point when junior Sean Ragee-Nelson won by forfeit. The Sycamores won the other four singles matches to win the match overall.

Western will look to even its record at .500 when it hosts in-state rival Bradley, Wednesday at 3 p.m.
