Letter to the editor 2
Issue date: 4/4/08 Section: Opinion
Editor's note: The following letter is in response too "Universal healthcare will increase debt" by Wes Heinkel, which appeared in the April 1 issue of the WC.
I read your April 2, 2008 article "Universal health care will increase debt," and I must say: Bravo! Not since the Spanish "sunk" the Maine have I seen such sensational yellow journalism.
Not content with just making a mockery of the issue with your poorly veiled attack on the left, you decided to take it a step further by first making up facts, and then you settled into a grove of just merely turning kernels of fact into some kind of propaganda soup. Actually, the distortion may have come first, I'm still getting over the nausea created by the your spin.
At this point I've done nothing more then copy your example of just spewing my hate without presenting any facts, but unlike you I actually shall go the extra step and provide evidence to show exactly why your article failed to do anything other then just piss me off.
First of all, you assault the democrats for a little bit of recent bickering. All well in good, but have you forgotten about How McCain has been the target of a right wing hate machine for the last eight years? Bush let people know about his illegitimate black baby in 2000.
While Conservative Pundits Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh also mounted attacks. Plus Mitt Romney decided to let us all know McCain was a closet liberal! But this glossing over the facts isn't as bad as when you lied about the state of America's healthcare system! "The best?" "A fact?" Both false. Your best healthcare system was rated thirty-second in the world.
Furthermore over forty-five million Americans are without coverage, and it is actually killing people. Next your libertardian idea of " the only way to drive down prices is to let [them] compete in an open, low-tax environment" is nothing more then weapons-grade baloneium.
The free market had its chance, and it's responsible for the current situation. We, as a nation, let it run it's course and now the already mentioned problems have only gotten worse. Facts, Mr. Heinkle, next time I recommend checking them.

Funny you should mention Yellow Journalism, as it states at dictionary.com, to exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to create sensations and attract readers, that you offer no facts or rationale, besides the fact that you got this information from the world health organization as a basis for international opinion, when clearly people travel from all over the world to experience the world class medical science of the United States. Douchebags with little to no argument often tend to point out spelling errors in lieu of having no argument. Michael Moore is an artist for distorting truth for his own agenda serving needs. (Continued…)
