Junior pitcher Eric Eden will undergo an MRI after this weekend's series of games.

The Leathernecks baseball team received a needed day off Tuesday after its game against Bradley was canceled.

Juniors Eric Eden and Lorenzo Gallaga both left games last Saturday due to injuries at Oral Roberts.

Eden, the ace of the starting rotation, left after only two innings of work in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, and on Sunday there were reports he would undergo an MRI upon his return to Macomb.

Sources close to the team said Tuesday afternoon that, after a secondary review of the injury, Eden will not undergo the MRI until after this weekend's games.

Gallaga left Game 2 of the doubleheader with symptoms of heat exhaustion. Coach Stan Hyman said Gallaga was cleared of the injury and is scheduled to return to the leadoff spot in Wednesday's game at the University of Illinois.

The Illini will host the Leathernecks in non-conference action Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Western returns to Summit League play this weekend at South Dakota State, with doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.
