City Council talks rezoning (7/2/08)

Several Macomb residents were present at last Monday's city council meeting to voice their questions and concerns regarding the possible rezoning of properties on Elting and Albert streets.
Several local residents were in agreement, pointing out that the the neighborhood containing the two lots up for rezoning had changed in recent years from single-family homes to student rentals. Voting on this issue is scheduled for next week's agenda.
In other business, the motion to approve the declaration of covenants, conditions, and restrictions for the Wheeler city subdivision was approved, and Engineer Ed McCall discussed how the city's proposed water membrane filtration system would provide better water quality for Macomb. would entail and how it would be better for Macomb Water.
