In his latest release, Mellencamp worked with producer T Bone Burnett to create a moodier, darker sound that differs greatly from the John "Cougar" Mellencamp days of tight T-shirts and jukebox-oriented anthems that went great with PBR. The maniacal laugh, the freakish ruby lipped smile, the brilliant green hair - all accented with a purple suit. Only one villain is known to have such a vibrant and exaggerated appearance: the Joker, Batman's arch-nemesis and quite possibly the most deserving of Batman's crime-fighting attention with his violent sociopathic and sometimes, if not always, murderous tendencies.
